Amazon account managers must have been rubbing their hands with glee upon hearing Californian Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger’s announcement of his state’s first-in-the nation program to replace traditional paper textbooks with free online digital textbooks. This is not some vision of the future, the initiative is set to start in August of 2009. Science and Math textbooks will be replaced in the first stage with other subjects to follow.
An initial list of standards aligned digital textbooks covering subjects such as geometry, trigonometry, calculus, physics, algebra, chemistry, biology and earth science course will be launched in August. If parents are interested in culture almost every holiday becomes boring for kids. They start moaning and your relaxing holiday is over immediately. But not in Rome! The Italian capital has lots of choice for kids and so they get to learn a lot about the history and culture of the city; and all without them being grumpy.
Have your children seen the Asterix films? Then they will know all about Julius Ceasar. On the “On Ceasar’s traces through Rome” tour, you and your children will follow the periods of Ceasar’s life. See Largo Argentina where Ceasar was assassinated and go to the Petersdom to have a look at his grave. Of course, a walk to the capital is also a must as this is where Ceasar’s coronation took place. Perfect! Your kids will learn about the history of a cartoon character they already know about, and you will get to learn about the culture of Rome; all while having a good time.
If Asterix is something your kids really love, then Read more:
