Many people enjoy cruise vacations, and rightly so. Although you can easily research this subject online, if you need a more detailed plan of action, you can find out about cruise line ratings.

The ratings are in stars and start obviously at 1 and go up to 5 or 6. Of course 5 or 6 is the very best and you can be assured that this is wonderful ship with expensive décor, large cabins and great food. Also the ships will cater to your whims and desires and employ a good sized staff to do so. If you are lucky to get a great ship as discussed above, the only factor that you can’t be sure of is the weather. Of course, this is probably a really expensive cruise.

Ratings can also help you to shop around so you can find the best cruise for you, which of course is a great advantage. The thing is if you go into this cruising adventure with your eyes closed, then you might well be stuck on board for a certain number of days and you cannot change anything. On the other hand, if you do take the trouble to find out about the ratings, you have a great advantage in that you can choose which cruise line is a good fit for you.

So how do cruise ship ratings actually help? First off they give you lots of information on which type of cruise as well as the quality of that cruise. But beware of great marketing and advertising as you will no doubt be given the absolute best scenario. You would also be well advised to seek out a cruise ship travel buro. Here you will find helpful staff who will assist you in all aspects of cruising. Now you have spoken to these experts, you can use this new-gained knowledge to do some more research on the internet. This way you will have done everything possible to ensure that the cruise you choose is the right one for you.

Probably the best ratings come from people who have actually gone on the cruise and the cruise ship that you want to take. Remember that these comments are biased and reflect what that particular person’s experience was onboard. However, if you find several comments about the cleanliness of the cabins, then I would imagine that is something you would have to check into. These comments are easily found on message boards or forums about cruise lines and destinations.

So if you are planning on going on a cruise, which can be a wonderful experience and adventure, do check out the cruise line ratings as well as research well the cruise line you are considering.

Cruise ship holidays have been popular for many years where instead of being tied to one destination for your holiday you get to experience many more types of cultures and countries. Cruise ship holidays aren’t just spent on the decks of the cruise liner as many cruises have multiple stop offs at ports along the way, allowing you to set foot on land to experience the local atmosphere, do some gift shopping and other activities.

When people think of cruise ship holidays there are usually two main companies that come to mind: P&O and Cunard. Both have their advantages and their destinations can be similar with each one having a few different options compared to the other. Their cruise ships themselves are similar too in some ways but generally their fleet will have many different ships that can cater to different crowds.

For instance P&O cruises have ships such as the Artemis that is a child-free boat, there are many people who take cruise holidays to get away from the screaming children at beach resorts so having the option for just a couple’s holiday without children around can be right up some people’s street. Other ships though are family orientated to help dispel the myth that cruise ship holidays are for older tourists.

Cunard Cruises have a smaller although incredibly impressive fleet including the Queen Mary 2 which recently visited Liverpool docks hailed as the grandest, most magnificent ocean liner ever built. The Queen Mary 2’s most recent trip has been a cross Atlantic trip to New York which is one of the many routes or voyages you can book a place on.

Other destinations that the Cunard ships travel on are the USA and Canada, Scandinavia and the Baltic region for a cruise with a difference and many familiar trips such as Caribbean and Mediterranean and round the world cruises. P&O has many more ships in its fleet and so has a wider choice of destinations such as Central America, Asia and the Orient and even Dubai and the Middle East which can include holiday hotspots such as Sharm El Sheikh too.

Both Cruise line companies have a lot of choice not only from what ships and which countries to visit but accommodation and dining options for the duration of your trip too. Depending on how much money you are willing to spend you can upgrade your cabin to a more luxurious one or you could choose more exquisite meals. The Aurora ship from P&O has a Marco Pierre-White restaurant on board.

Cruise ships offer a plethora of entertainment, amenities and luxuries these days, with each cruise line providing a variety of vessels built with different holidaymakers in mind.

Travellers are likely to come across ships offering different types and combinations of pubs, bars, fine restaurants, fast food outlets, shops, beauty salons, swimming pools and water park facilities, ballrooms, casinos, sports centres and much more during their cruise research.

This means that those considering going on a cruise are spoilt for choice when it comes to choosing a ship to sail away on for their holiday – especially when it comes to the bigger cruise providers that have typically large fleets.

Take Carnival Cruise Lines, which is one of the most prominent cruise companies globally and has 22 vessels to pick from.

Its ships come in a variety of classes ranging from standard quality vessels to super luxurious ships offering almost every service you can think of – the Carnival Splendor boasts a 21,000 sq ft two-level spa and gym, together with a 5,500 sq ft children’s playroom, for example.

At the other end of the scale, P&O Cruises has seven ships, with each tailored to meet the needs of particular categories of travellers, whether they are families looking for an all-round great time or luxury holidaymakers seeking a truly indulgent cruise.

Elsewhere, Princess Cruises aims to meet the needs of all kinds of cruise lovers by not only operating large ships split into different classes, but also running a fleet of small vessels that can offer a quieter and more intimate cruise.

Some cruise liners are a step ahead of the rest when it comes to trying out new and innovative features – for example, Royal Caribbean’s Freedom Class of ships cater for lovers of water sports with its H2O Zone water park, the on board FlowRider surf park, cantilevered whirlpools and three large swimming areas.

All in all, it is perhaps best for cruise goers to think carefully about their needs when choosing a cruise ship – larger ships might be best for families and sporty types wanting to take advantage of the best facilities, while smaller vessels may be better suited to those travelling alone or with a partner.

Cruise ships, such as, Princess Cruises and Carnival offer a plethora of entertainment, amenities and luxuries these days, with each cruise line providing a variety of vessels built with different holidaymakers in mind. Virgin Holidays Cruises is here to bring the UK a fresh and exciting perspective to cruising. It’s about tailor making cruises to suit everyone. Whether you’ve cruised before and fancy yourself as a bit of a pro, or if you’re new to cruises and need a little advice, Virgin Holidays Cruises’ Cruise Specialists can help you to find the perfect cruise holiday.

Carnival cruises has a massive fleet of ships but which ones do the customers rate as the best? Below we have listed the best carnival cruise ships and given a short description of why the customers considered them to be the best.

1. Carnival conquest. There is always something going on. You can soak up the sun, gamble a little in the casino, participated in trivia in the lounge, work out in the gym, enjoyed the whirlpool or just sip rum and watch the world go by. A fantastic ship that really has everything.

2. Destiny. A fabulous relaxing atmosphere and some great ports of call. Everybody who sails on her says it is their favorite by far. A smaller ship than some others but it is laid out in such a way that it never feels crowded.

3. Ecstasy. Even though the decor is a little dated the Ecstasy is still a great ship. The staff are friendly and there is a family like atmosphere on board. The food is great and the service is unbelievable. A ship worthy of a top 3 spot.

4. Fascination. This ship really demonstrates how cruising can be a wonderful vacation for a group of friends or family. A really nice relaxed atmosphere throughout the ship and the staff are friendly and welcoming. Great ports of call and fascinating ships layout make this ship one of the best. The cabins on board the fascination are surprisingly huge!

5. Fantasy. The accommodation on board the Fantasy is unbelievable. Great family oriented ship with lots to do for all ages. Don’t travel if you don’t like kids, the ship is aimed at families rather than lone travelers.

6. Inspiration. Great ship with all the amenities you would expect on a cruise ship. Cabins are clean and well proportioned and the food on board is fantastic.

7. Jubilee. The Jubilee usually sails out of Galveston. Most aspects of this ship will exceed your expectations. The food is fantastic and all the staff are friendly and helpful. A great ship and a fantastic vacation choice.

With so many cruise ships to choose from in the Carnival fleet we hope this small introduction to some of their best ships has been a great help.

Carnival conquest cruises are available from any cruise specialist but be sure to check prices as there are huge discounts to be made if you shop around.

There are some things you be aware of when undertaking your next cruise holidays travel vacation.

Pack a bag with you onboard.

When going on a cruise holidays you need to pack a bag with your bare essentials. It may take sometime before your luggage gets to you. It is not like air travel where you bag is waiting for you at the other end. Sometimes it will be after dinner before your luggage gets to your cabin.

Look around your surroundings.

Entering your cruise ship is like entering a new home. Only here, it is huge with many different rooms for various activities. In order to really get to enjoy your stay and holiday, you have to explore your new surroundings.

Avoid the Elevators.

During meal times and some other busy times, you need to keep away from the elevators. There will a mass of people waiting to use the elevators at these times. This could be an annoying time for you. So in order not to spoil your mood, avoid the elevators at these times.

Be understanding of the needs of others at night.

Always remember that you are not alone. There are other people also enjoying the cruise like you. So be considerate of other people feelings especially at night. Don’t go having a loud party, shouting or slamming doors. Generally, don’t be noisy.

Don’t display your jewelry.

In a cruise ship where there are hundreds of other people, there is the need to be careful. So wearing of expensive jewelry should be avoided. You can always wear your expensive jewelry at home whenever you want. You might become a target on the ship by wearing expensive jewelry.

Be charitable.

Always be generous to the people who look after you while on your cruise. You are a long way from home and they are there to help you enjoy your cruise. Being generous won’t hurt you and it is likely to get you even better service. Most staff onboard cruise ships are low paid and tips make their lives better. Always look after those who look after you.

Shopping on board the cruise ship.

One can benefit while cruising by taking advantage of duty free shopping. Means you can buy some items for less than they would normally cost in your country. However, try to be aware of what is allowed into the country and what is restricted. Things like foods are always on restricted lists because of the spread of diseases from one country to another.

Plan Ahead.

Before you book your cruise make sure you research the ship and the company’s reputation, and plan what you want to do on board and your excursions ashore.
