Many years ago, I bought a Panasonic Rear Projection LCD multimedia HDTV. My RP-HDTV is need a TY-LA1000 bulb I do like it. Back in the day, a plasma HDTV was way out of range versus a RP-HDTV. For that size, no LCD HDTV were made.
After 10000 hours, the only negative point was that I had to buy a TY-LA1000 bulb. My bulb burned on me after only 23 months of use. The service technician came to my home since I did not know it was my lamp. He was kind ebough to show a way to see the number of hours. It was 4500. It was far from the 10000 hours. He said that DLP and LCD RPHDTV burned off their lamps near or above the 5000 hours mark.
It was news to me and called my retailer. He wanted to sell me a new bulb for $450. My retailer told me that other manufacturers had lowered their bulb prices but Panasonic did not. I found almost the same price after checking a few other local retailers I finally bought from the above Read more:
